Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè (/ˈeʃɘ/ /ˈqaʤe/ [handsome] [mammal]) is a temperate Town located in the Yêmëcê Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè was founded by Séchvé̄ Jór 'Bite Hamsy' Ra̋chī̌ Cúchīs Nīkī́̄̄̄ Brêg̈m, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 24°C (75°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 19°C (66°F). Overview

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè was founded durring the early 13th century in spring of the year 1241, by Séchvé̄ Jór 'Bite Hamsy' Ra̋chī̌ Cúchīs Nīkī́̄̄̄ Brêg̈m. The establishment of Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Séchvé̄ Jór 'Bite Hamsy' Ra̋chī̌ Cúchīs Nīkī́̄̄̄ Brêg̈m struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè as a prison colony.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the early 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè is buildings are arranged arround a network of spacious worn bedrock streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. The top tier civilian fortifications has suffered a visible ammount of structural damage, leaving them effectivly useless. One can't help but wonder why the has not yet effected repairs.

A look around Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè gives you a feeling of distrust and paranoia. Also greed. The locals seem to be very much into scholastic pursuits, based on the hushed, murmured conversations you hear at least. Everyone in Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè acts like they have discovered something wondrous, and are worried they will endure some horrible fate so another can take what they’ve discovered for themselves.

Civic Infrastructure

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè has an Arts Academy which provides higher education in many fields including math, language arts, philosophy, engineering, and other such disciplines.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè's grid is powered by mana accumulators.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè's old civil lighting system was converted to Galvanic Lamps recently, and expanded to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè's natural decorations nor waterways.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

In Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè most nights are accompanied by colorful ribbons of light in the sky.

The Apallie near Ethê-qaje Dêtîkè are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.
